1 Living room
1 Bedroom

2 Floors
3 Balconies

2 detached Studios

The house can host a maximum of 6 people.
The studios 2 people each.

On the ground floor of the Lion Cottage, you will find a bright kitchen, with a gas stove and 4-burner range, a refrigerator and all the table linen and silverware.

The kitchen leads directly to the living room with a large, custom-made bar in traditional “granilite”, an attractive, local amalgam of cement embedded with flecks of dark slate and white marble. Using only natural materials and local varieties of wood, the Lion Cottage’s sliding panels, room dividers and large curtains adjust as needed to offer both a bright 360° view of the surrounding nature and protected, intimate spaces.

The living room has a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams of parajù wood and terracotta roof tiles.
Wooden lattice-work along all the upper walls allows the air to circulate freely.

The majestic waxed veranda, made of naturally-aged parajù wood, wraps around three sides of the house. One side of the veranda is set aside for a dining room table that comfortably seats eight, while the rest of the veranda is dedicated to pure relaxation, with a wicker sofa, a hammock, two swinging chairs, a driftwood couch and various straw mats and throw cushions to enjoy the garden atmosphere.

The house is decorated with the memories of many journeys and many stories, salvaged furniture, pieces of memorabilia, lamps, and once-in-a-lifetime finds picked up in flea markets and carnivals across Brazil and around the whole world.

Inspiration for the large door made of parajù wood and handmade banana fiber paper of the first floor suite comes from Japan, while the large white curtains of the “sail room” reflect oceanic influences.
